with a forest-to-table feast. Autumn is one of the best times of the year to forage for mushrooms in Oregon, and the finds are often magical (no, not that kind of magic mushroom). I'm talking about forest-grown culinary mushrooms, ready to be foraged.

Wild Rye at Brasada Ranch will host its annual feast, The Foraged Dinner + wine pairing, on October 24 at 6 pm. The banquet and menu is curated by Chef Karl Holl who hunts and picks the mushrooms by hand, showcasing Oregon's most enchanted funghi throughout four courses with wine pairings from Walter Scott Wines.

Guests gather in and around The Barn at dusk to sip on wine and champagne before dinner. It's a great opportunity to take in one of THE most ethereal sunset views in Central Oregon.

Now, if you're like me, you may be asking yourself, "mushrooms in a dessert?" I asked myself the same thing when I last attended The Foraged Dinner, and I'm pleased to announce...

🍄🍭 it works!! Candy cap mushroom bread pudding with a huckleberry compote, vanilla whipped cream, and maple anglaise (for you culinary newbies, that's a pourable custard).

A few more menu sneak peeks include: surf + turf lobster rolls, smoked + grilled qual with matsutake, roasted chanterelles with mushroom hollandaise, and of course the previously mentioned dessert.

Seriously, wow. I'm looking forward to connecting with locals, friends, and visitors at this family-style banquet dinner and experiencing Chef Karl's forest discoveries and creations. I hope you'll join me!
