Super secret taco pop-up in Bend

July 10, 2026 Food Newsletter

Hey food lovin' bestie,

Do you want the scoop on what might be the best taco pop-up in town?

For those of you living in Bend since pre-food-cart-lot-on-every-corner times, you know that Tacos Pihuamo was *the* go-to taco truck in town.

I mean, it was one of the *only* food trucks before all of the lots and pods were around.

While you can still find them at their OG 3rd Street location (near the Reed Market intersection), they have an all-too-well-kept secret...

🌮 Quesabirria tacos. 🌮

You know, those wildly sought-after semi-crispy tacos, oozing with melted cheese, tender birria, cilantro, and onions?

But wait—there's a caveat! You can't just show up to Tacos Pihuamo and request quesabirria. That's because these specialty tacos are being grill-fried under the pseudonym QuesaBirria don Augustin... and ONLY on special occasions.

I know what you're thinking... "WHEN can we get these tacos?!" 🙏

This summer, QBdA has been popping up at their Pihuamo spot on Saturdays, weather-permitting, from 11 am til 4 pm. Will they be there this weekend? Only their Instagram has the answers.

No website. No Google Business Profile. No phone number.

Just sporadic updates from a quiet social media account broadcasting to a modest 172 followers.
